Stride Privacy Policy

Effective May 17, 2026

Stride is operated by Letotech, Corp. ("Stride", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Stride you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Phone number, email address, username, and display name you provide at signup.
  • Region (set from your phone country code), preferred unit system, and language.
  • Profile photo or avatar if you upload one.

Fitness and activity data

  • Workout summaries (type, start time, end time, distance, duration, calories, step count) read from sources you explicitly connect: Apple Health (iOS), Health Connect (Android), and Strava.
  • GPS route polylines (when available from Strava) used to detect implausible activity and prevent cheating.
  • We do NOT collect continuous location, heart-rate streams, sleep data, or any HealthKit / Health Connect category that is not strictly needed for the challenges you join.

Wallet and payment information

  • Wallet balance and transaction history (entry fees, prize wins, top-ups, refunds, withdrawals).
  • For top-ups we collect what our payment processors (Stripe in the US/CA, Wompi in Colombia) require. Card numbers are entered directly into the processor's hosted forms and never touch our servers.
  • For withdrawals we collect the bank details required to send the payout (account holder name, address, routing/account numbers in the US; legal ID, bank code, account number in Colombia). These details are stored encrypted at rest.

Device and usage information

  • Device type, operating system version, app version, time zone, and IP address.
  • Push notification tokens (FCM) so we can send challenge reminders and result alerts.
  • Server logs covering requests, errors, and security events.

Crews and social context

  • Crews you create or join, invites you send or receive, and the username of the person who invited you.
  • Referral codes used at signup and the connection between a referrer and their invitees.

2. How we use your information

  • Run the service: process challenge entries, score progress, rank participants, distribute prizes, and credit wallets.
  • Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, and abuse: implausible-pace checks, GPS sanity validation, manual review of large or unusual results, account suspension when needed.
  • Process payments, refunds, and withdrawals through our payment processors.
  • Send transactional notifications (challenge starts, results, withdrawal status) via push, email, and in-app alerts.
  • Improve the product: aggregate usage analytics, debug crashes, plan new features. Aggregated data does not identify individuals.
  • Comply with legal obligations including tax reporting, anti-money-laundering controls, and lawful requests from regulators.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

  • With other Stride users: your username, display name, avatar, crew memberships, and challenge leaderboard position are visible to other participants. Last names are shown only as a single-letter initial on public leaderboards.
  • With service providers strictly to operate Stride: AWS (hosting, storage, email), Stripe (US/CA payments), Wompi (Colombia payments), Firebase (push notifications and crash reporting), Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect / Strava (fitness data, only via the connections you authorize).
  • With law enforcement, regulators, or in response to legal process when we have a good-faith basis to do so.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case continuing privacy protections will apply.

4. Connected fitness sources

  • We request access only to the HealthKit, Health Connect, and Strava scopes strictly needed for the challenge types you join (steps, distance, duration, calories, workouts).
  • You can revoke any source at any time from your device settings (Apple Health / Health Connect) or from your account's Connections page (Strava). Revoking a source stops further data collection but does not delete activity already counted toward a challenge.
  • Per Apple's App Store policies, HealthKit data is never used for advertising, sold, or shared for purposes other than running Stride challenges.
  • Per Strava's API terms, your Strava data is used only inside Stride and is not redistributed to third parties.

5. Data retention

  • Account, wallet, and transaction records are retained for the life of your account and for the period required by tax and financial regulations after closure.
  • Activity samples used to score a challenge are retained for as long as that challenge is open to dispute, then summarized and the raw stream pruned.
  • Server logs and security events are retained for up to 90 days, then deleted.
  • You can request deletion of your account at any time from the Account section ("Delete account"). We will delete or anonymize your personal data subject to legal-retention obligations.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict our use of your personal information. To exercise these rights, write to us at privacy@joinstride.app from the email tied to your account. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

7. Security

  • All traffic to and from Stride is encrypted in transit (TLS).
  • Sensitive fields (third-party OAuth tokens, bank details for withdrawals) are encrypted at rest.
  • Access to production systems is limited to authorized engineers and logged.
  • No security program is perfect. If we discover a breach that affects your information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

8. Children

Stride is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us at privacy@joinstride.app and we will delete the account.

9. International transfers

Stride is operated from the United States. If you use Stride from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be surfaced in the app before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
